Application assistance for elevated House extension in close proximity to neighbouring properties

Overview

While trying to obtain planning consent for their house extension, our clients felt like they were hitting a barrier with the application stalling. While the LPA were generally keen to grant planning approval, they were unable to do so with the current package of information.

Unfortunately, like many planning departments and applicants they were unable to communicate successfully their points and understand the other sides’ issues.

Following our appointment, we reviewed the current application package, local planning policies and planning officers’ comments and advised our clients of the best way to proceed.

As the application had received numerous objections, including from a local Councillor, any recommendation for approval would have to be ratified via the Planning Committee, which further hardened the stance from the Planning Department.

Without making fundamental changes to the scheme, the application received full planning approval at the Planning committee meeting.
