Reconstruction of the existing barn to create a single dwelling house

Located in open countryside our clients had previously obtained permission for a barn conversion to create a single dwelling. The modern agricultural building had little or no architectural interest but was located close to an existing earth bank and retaining wall which created water ingress issues for the property.

Plande successfully negotiated planning permission to reconstruct the existing building on a slightly different footprint even though it was contrary to the local policies as this was tantamount to the construction of a new dwelling in open countryside which is generally unacceptable to local planning authorities.
