Contemporary garden room in open countryside

Located at the end of a row of barn conversion dwellings, in open countryside, our clients sought additional living space for their small family home. The local policies restricted extensions both in terms of scale but also in terms of design. Our clients wished for a large and contemporary space and it was therefore suggested to create, at least initially, a detached garden room separated from the house by a small gap.

Once planning consent was granted a subsequent application was submitted for small, minimal glazed link, connecting the property to the garden room, which was also approved, effectively meaning the garden room could be utilised as an extension to the property rather than just a detached space.
