Located in a ribbon development of similar properties, this 1970’s property was still generally in its original configuration. Neighbouring properties had a variety of extensions and works done, however, all generally retained their original character.
Our clients sought a contemporary remodelling of the property with extensions to create a modern family home, influenced by their respective native countries and featuring a new Master bedroom suite with en-suite and dressing room.
One of the issues with the property was the “front” door was on the side elevation of the property and relocating this to the front elevation was a key requirement and a fundamental part of the project. In addition, the existing garage was a dominant feature when entering the curtilage and the preference was to try and minimise this as part of the works.
The proposals sought to completely change the character of the property, although the client’s budget would only permit a small external extension.
Planning consent was granted without changes to the scheme.
