The designer for the proposals approached us as they had experienced planning issues with the site on previous occasions and anticipated further issues with their subsequent application to seek the conversion of the detached garage into two-holiday cottages. The garage was of recent construction and a previous garage on the site had received the previous refusal for conversion to a dwelling prior.
The site was located within Green Belt and was quite visible in the landscape. We assisted the designer in developing the scheme, including ensuring meeting the relevant standards and supplementary planning guidance.
Concerns raised, including from the Parish Council and the application was taken to Planning Committee where it ultimately obtained approval.
