Located in a small cluster of dwellings, the existing historic stone building had been extended and converted to a dwelling and the local policies prevented further development.
Our clients sought additional space and it was suggested that an appropriated designed two-storey outbuilding could be justified as an appropriate building. Careful consideration was given to the location, detailing and principle to ensure it couldn’t be considered as a potential future dwelling. In addition, the existing poor access was reconfigured to provide better vehicular access.
During the application process, minor amendments were negotiated with the Council with regards the scale and detailing of the building however ultimately the planning application was approved.
