Use of car park as doggie day care (sui generis)

Located within an area identified for regeneration, our clients sought an imaginative use for a vacant car park.

Concerns were raised by the local Environmental Health Officer regarding the noise aspects in relation to amenity issues for surrounding commercial and residential properties.

In addition, the Planning Officer also raised concerns about the impact of the proposals on the wider regeneration plans for the area.

A detailed planning statement and accompanying acoustic report sought to allay the concerns of the Council over the proposals with detailed negotiations held throughout the application process to work towards making the scheme acceptable.

As our clients only had a short term lease arrangement, a temporary planning permission was requested which sought to negate any impact on the wider regeneration plans for the area as these were over a much larger timescale.
