Following an approach by an Enforcement Officer, Plande were approached to assist with a retrospective application for the change of use of the existing long-vacant petrol station into a hand car wash. The site was located within a Conservation Area, adjacent to protected open space and a site of high ecological value and having a range of TPO’s.
The site, while located close to other commercial properties had a range of residential properties in close proximity. Around 30 objections were received as part of the application and ultimately the application was determined by the planning committee.
A range of issues including drainage, ecology, noise and lighting required careful negotiation with the Planning Officer and ultimately plande helped obtain planning permission to allow the business to continue.
