Change of use of industrial building to vehicle repair, body shop and spray booth (retrospective)

Located in an industrial building in a predominantly residential area, our clients had taken over the building and hadn’t appreciated the need to obtain planning consent for their use. The Council started the process of enforcement proceedings against the client who subsequently approached us to assist with the application due to our expertise in such matters.

A review of the existing use, which had evolved over time, along with an assessment of the aspects actually requiring planning consent was undertaken and a detailed justification was provided to the Council to support the application.

With minor changes negotiated and agreed to the newly created spray booth, the Planning Officer ultimately recommended approval.
