What are Use Classes?

Use classes refers to how the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987  (in England) assigns the use of land and buildings into various categories known as  ‘Use Classes’. Each of these can be separated into the six main sectors we have listed below.

It is quite common for a change of use to occur from either one class to another or within the same class.
